Acoustic flooring
Giha Acoustic Flooring
Giha Acoustic Flooring is a pattern-protected flooring system developed to effectively reduce sound and vibrations. With our patented impact sound reduction technology, we create quiet and pleasant environments in everything from homes to public spaces.
Giha Acoustic Flooring prevents sound from spreading to neighbouring rooms and premises.
This is how our patented flooring solution works
Our acoustic flooring is based on an innovative construction with a large sound-absorbing surface that breaks up sound waves before they spread further through the building's structure. By using Giha Acoustic Flooring, vibrations are prevented from travelling between floors, which is crucial in complex construction projects. The system is extremely flexible and can be adapted to achieve the highest acoustic classes (Classes A and B) where particularly high demands are placed on the acoustic environment, beyond the minimum requirements in Boverket's Building Regulations.
Thanks to the system's versatility, it is suitable for a variety of environments such as offices, schools and sports halls where the noise level is often high. It is also used with great success in residential properties, healthcare facilities, conference rooms and libraries. For premises with specific acoustic needs, such as concert halls, community halls and supported housing, Giha Acoustic Flooring provides reliable and measurable sound improvement that enhances the entire property's quality and user experience.
How sound spreads in rooms
Sound in buildings is often divided into airborne sound and impact sound. Airborne sound arises from conversations or music and moves freely through the air, while impact sound (footfall noise) is created when objects hit the floor – such as when heavy chairs are moved or someone walks in hard shoes.
Our floor system is specially designed to dampen both these sound types, creating a harmonious environment regardless of the activity.
Technical information about Giha Acoustic Flooring
Our acoustic floors are laboratory-tested at RISE in Borås and achieve a sound insulation improvement of a full 26 dB. The system meets the requirements of Swedish Standard SS 25267, and we provide all the necessary data for precise calculations in the finished building.
Using a concrete screw, sleeve, and a patented sound foot guarantees a stable installation that maintains its sound-dampening properties throughout the floor's lifespan.
Environmentally sound manufacturing and sustainability
Like all our systems, Giha Acoustic Flooring is manufactured with the environment in mind. We use only Nordic Ecolabelled and FSC-certified flooring chipboard, which is produced using 100% renewable electricity at our factory.
The system is approved by Sunda Hus, Basta and Byggvarubedömningen, which means you get a floor that not only effectively dampens sound, but also contributes to sustainable and climate-smart construction.

Patented sound foot, effective sound reduction, and easy assembly
-
Patented sound photo
The unique and patented sound foot is pre-assembled on the floor panel, saving crucial working steps and ensuring optimal vibration damping right from installation.
-
Sound-insulating flooring
Our system effectively reduces both airborne and impact noise by up to 26 dB, creating a quieter and healthier indoor environment.
-
Easy assembly
The construction allows for quick installation of pipes and cables under the floor, which reduces the number of work steps and results in a significantly lower total project cost.
